A tree stands tall outside the caf in the Tom and Brenda McDaniel University Center. Students congregate here to study during finals week. The tree lends a blue-and-gold ambiance to the open space.
- Sonya Rhodes, an OCU employee, stands red-nosed and ready for students to enter the caf. Sonya is well known amongst students for distributing candy canes along with a dose of holiday cheer as they enter the caf.
- A basket of poinsettias lend charm to the comfy couches outside the caf inside the Tom and Brenda McDaniel University Center. During finals week, therapy dogs visit this area to provide a well-needed cuddle session for stressed students.
- A street view of the tiny holiday village that sprouts up on the landing of the staircase leading to Alvin’s Cafe. The village pops up every year, and is a popular photo-op spot for students.
- A beautiful berry bush adds natural charm to the campus during the holiday season as the stately Administration Building stands in the background.
- A tree decked out cheerfully watches over students as they study in the Dulaney-Brown Library. The library offers stress-reducing activities like coloring pages and crafts during finals, along with the ever-popular Chocolate Express, which delivers late-night snacks to studying students.
- A tree lights up the lobby of the Burg Theater inside the Kirkpatrick Fine Arts Center. The lobby is decorated for performances of the holiday classic “It’s a Wonderful Life,” a live radio play presented by the OCU School of Theater.
- The atrium of the Wanda L. Bass Music Center, bedecked in greens and lights for the holiday season. All three floors of the building are fully garlanded and lit up bright, giving a festive glow to the myriad concerts and performances around the school during the holiday season.
