Anti-smoking legislation dies in committee

A bill to allow municipalities to impose stricter smoking laws died in committee Feb. 18. Senate Bill 36 would have allowed cities and towns to pass their own smoke-free ordinances.

About 26 percent of Oklahomans smoke, according to State Health Commissioner Terry Cline.
