Wind screen damages student owned vehicle

By Rikki George, Associate Editor

Oklahoma City University Police were dispatched to the parking garage underneath United Methodist Hall on Friday. An OCU Facilities Department employee had discovered that the bottom of one of the newly installed wind shields had broken loose and damaged a student owned vehicle.

The hook that anchored the screen to a 5′ high concrete safety wall was detached and caused numerous minor scratches on the vehicle hood. The responding officer took photos of the damage but was unable to locate the student.

The installation of the wind screens was a precautionary measure put into place by  the University in response to the winter damages of last year. The screens are meant to block out 80 percent of wind.
