Man believed to be first person cured of HIV

Timothy Ray Brown received a stem cell transplant in 2007 and doctors believed he has been cured of HIV as a result of the transplant.

More than 33 million people currently live with HIV. The medical breakthrough is sure to lend hope for a cure to those suffering with the virus and spawn more medical discoveries through the use of stem cells.
